I created the 2 page 12x12 layout using the December 2008 MW Express kit. I got this idea last year from Ali Edwards (see her blog at www.aliedwards.typepad.com).

At the end of the holiday season, she took the Christmas cards her family had received and used a square punch to capture photos, little snippets of handwriting and small sections of the beautiful artwork on the cards. She then used them on a scrapbook layout.

It was weird cutting up the cards, but really I was going to have to eventually throw them away anyway. This way, they and the photos and some of the handwriting is captured in our family scrapbook!

Some of the photos were too large to fit in my square punch, so I used my photo editing software (Adobe Photoshop Elements) to shrink them down and I printed them at home to the right size for my square punch.

Using the MW Express kit made the page so easy!

Aside from the kit I also used:

-Coluzzle WordsWorth alphabet for the word "Cards"
-Doodlebug jewel in Ladybug
