You can use this card as a Workshop, or even as a workshop invite. You can encourage your attendees to change the message and the card could be for just about any occasion. I used the contents of the March 08 Express Kit, but you can modify this and use just about any of our kits or papers.
Supplies:
* Prism Cardstock
* Patterned papers (I used the Striped Scenic Route and Rusty Pickle “Lucky” paper in the March 08 Kit)
* Coin Envelope (I also got this from the March 08 Kit, but you can buy these, or make your version own with the Coluzzle File Folder or
Library Card Templates)
* Ribbons - I used one brown polka dotted ribbon (8 inches) and one white ribbon (1 ½ inches)
* Button
*Word Template (attachment below)
*Colorbox Chalk Pad – Charcoal (Optional)
Directions:
1. Cut the cardstock into 8.5 x 5.5 pieces. Fold in half to make card.
2. Cut striped patterned paper into a piece that measures 5 3/16 x 4 inches. Ink edges.
3. Ink edges of envelope. I cut about ½ inch off the tip of the coin envelope just for aesthetics, but you can leave it depending on how you want it to look and the type of envelope you use. Punch hole in top right corner of envelope. Tie polka dotted ribbon (which measures around 4 inches long), trim ends. Adhere envelope to patterned paper as shown.
4. Cut 2nd patterned paper (the paper works well if it has a lighter colored solid side so you can write on it) 2 x 3 inches. Ink edges. Staple white ribbon in a loop onto left side of this piece of patterned paper to form a “handle” for pulling the card out of the coin envelope.
5. Print out the card template (you can download below) and cut out the sentiments. Ink edges. Adhere sentiment to the solid side of the little card. Put in coin envelope.
6. Adhere saying to outside of coin envelope as shown.
7. Thread Polka dot ribbon through button (using a needle threader, or the end of a mini brad makes this MUCH easier) holes and tie in front. Trim ends. Adhere to card as shown.
Voila! You have a card that you can alter for many different occasions. You can get the template here (Opens with Microsoft Word):
