2-page, 8x8 layout. I created this layout because in the past year I've worked hard. photos by my friend Ben Kusler. I've been hitting the gym hard and had a photoshoot done. This layout just states that I'm still me, but have discovered more about myself in the past year.

I created this layout using the Simple Stories: Life Documented Collection. This layout actually goes next to the 33 years layout in my album...from the same day (see that idea gallery post). In addition to the kit, I used the Creative Imaginations Mixed tag set and ribbon from a former MW Express kit. Thanks for looking!

I've been enjoying playing with the new collection and am absolutely in love. It's SO easy, looks great, and is giving me a stress-free way to scrapbook about our family memories in 2010!
I have my 2010 album more than half way done after only working on it for about 30 minutes!! Yes, this COMING year's album! I'll complete the album by selecting my 10 or so favorite photos each month and sliding them in the 4x6" slots in the We R MemoryKeepers page protectors (which are included with the kit). Remember, it's a WORK IN PROGRESS...
This photos is of the cover page. Thus far, I used my Fiskars paper trimmer and easily cut the 12 month cardstock journaling cards out, and slid them each in a page protector page. An awesome feature of these cards is that they're not only printed on heavyweight acid-free cardstock, but they're also DOUBLESIDED. I love every single design and pattern and love how they coordinate to create journaling blocks within my album...and I get to use both sides because you can see through the page protectors!
Now, I'll just add journaling and photos each month, then embellish with the beautiful cardstock stickers or included downloadable elements. I can also add 12x12 scrapbook pages or any additional pages into the album as I go - in case I want to highlight special events throughout the year. That's the beauty of using a D-Ring (3-Ring) album instead of a post-bound album. It gives you the flexibility to easily add and move things around where a post-bound would be more challenging!
I also love that I can store the unused kit elements right in my album in the 12x12 page protectors so they're on hand when I'm ready to add to my album! This way I can take it to a crop with a paper trimmer and pen - and that's IT!
All in all, this kit is an amazing, scrapbook mind-set altering experience! It will change the way you scrapbook - making it much more stress-free to capture your year-long memories.

With this kit’s theme of “Beginnings”, I chose pictures focusing on new changes that occurred in our lives. This layout focuses on my Brother’s surprise 40th birthday party and was made using the products that came in the January 2010 MW Express Kit. Other MW Products Used: --Heidi Swapp Edge Distressor --American Crafts Slick Writers I distressed the one edge of the butterfly paper and adhered the skinny red gingham ribbon that came with the kit, along the left edge of the layout on top of the butterfly paper. The ribbon gives a little more color to the layout.

This is the first time I did stitching on a layout. I think it adds a little pop to the layout. I used the Parakeet floss because it almost matches the color of our bridesmaids dresses.

I created this chipboard bird plant stake using one of the chipboard shapes from the chipboard mini-album in the December 2009 MemoryWorks Express kit. I painted the Maya Road chipboard snowflakes silver, then added Rock Candy Distress paint for a crackled finish. My plan is to add it to a poinsettia as a gift this holiday season. Thanks for looking!

For the message board October Challenge! What a fun project this was! I used up the tag sheet and some of the alphabet stickers from Basic Grey's Phoebe collection and that's all I needed to complete this whole project aside from some cardstock! GREAT use up for all those tags!

I created these mini-cards using the Oct 2009 MW Express kit. I'll be putting them in some Halloween cookie treat bags I'm making. For the 'boo' card, I used a small piece of foam to dab some black ink over a piece of 'magic mesh' to create the grid background pattern on the front. Thanks for looking!

This is a little calendar to demonstrate some techniques. The pages are so easy, it could be taught in one class. Techniques include heat embossing, flock, border punches, using patterned paper as ribbon, stickles, and stamping. There's also one page showing that you can use the Creative Imaginations calendar pages too.

This mini album is mostly from the July 09 Express Kit. I made a mini album from the postcards that came with the kit using some more military photos. I had fun making this and reminisced as I assembled each page. The front cover, as you notice, has a few items that are not MW products, but the rest of the album is made from MW products and memorabilia. I thought I would share the cover becase it sets the tone of the album and it shows how you can use some of your products on hand that aren't from MW. Page 7: MW Items Used--Prism Cardstock (Papaya Puree Medium); postcard, flower paper, and orange ric rac are from kit; Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and Frayed Burlap; American Crafts Slick Writers; Non-MW items Used--staples. Page 8: MW Items Used--Prism Cardstock (Spring Willow Medium), postcard and polka dotted paper (from kit), Distress Ink in Peeled Paint and Frayed Burlap, American Crafts Slick Writers, Heidi Swapp Edge Distressor; Non-MW Items Used--Stickopotamus Career Stickers (Navy)(crow at top left of page on photo), actual leftover chevrons iron-on from uniform (under photo). Page 9: MW Items Used--patterned papers, postcard, and chipboard tag from the kit, Distress Ink in Peeled Paint and Frayed Burlap, Prism Cardstock (Spring Willow Medium), American Crafts Slick Writers. Page 10: MW Items Used--Prism Cardstock (Papaya Puree Medium); ribbon, orange ric rac, postcard, and polka dotted paper from kit; Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and Frayed Burlap; American Crafts Slick Writers; Non-MW Items Used--staples. Back Cover: MW Items Used--postcard (from kit), Distress Crackle Paint in Faded Jeans, Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap, American Crafts Slick Writers; Non-MW Items Used--actual patches from uniform (big one--shows rate and rank (old one) worn on left sleeve, and ship's name patch (extra one) worn at shoulder of right sleeve.) I assembled the mini album by punching a hole in top left of each page and set an eyelet on each page. I then threaded the thicker twine/jute (from kit) through all holes and attached the metal charm/tag (also from kit) before I tied the jute into a square knot (the knot used to tie the kerchief around neck on Navy uniform--like the one on uniform sticker on fromt cover.)

I created this handy dry-erase clipboard using the new Creative Imaginations: Smarty Theme Set (Helen Dardick) and Impress-ons. I decorated the clipboard with the papers, added rubons, then attached a piece of thin acrylic (you can purchase 12x12 thin sheets at many craft stores - or do a search online). You can write on it with a dry-erase pen... Under the paper on the back of the clipboard I added thin magnets so the clipboard can be hung on metal filing cabinets or a fridge. Great teacher gift!

This layout was made from items in the July09 MWE Kit. I am finally starting to scrap my military photos, these were taken 20 years ago. This kit gave me the inspiration to scrap some of the photos and memorabilia from then. On this layout I included some coins and money I had left over. (I know, they are not acid-free & lightnin free, so I printed a photo out instead of using the original photo.) I made little vellum envelopes to hold the coins. You can lift the envelope up to get to the coins out of the envelope if you want to look at them better. The flower includes a map of Spain on it so I put an arrow marking where Spain is on the flower. MW items used: --Blackbird ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inkpad --American Crafts Slick Writers --Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo Distress Inks Non-MW items used: --Vellum

Want to spice up those school supplies. Personalize a pencil box for your very important student this year. A few quick embellishments can make a big impact. For this project I used a clear plastic pencil box. If you are going to decorate the inside, choose one that is flat on the bottom. I used elements from the August Express and some triple thick glaze to seal the papers. Wendy used this glaze on her album at the retreat and it was just awesome!! I will post a photo of the glaze bottle later today. I bought mine at Hobby Lobby. First I decided onth e title--it could be school days, a name or any other fun saying. I picked "Live, laugh, learn" I placed the Pink Paislee stickers. Painted some stars yellow and inked them slightly with brown ink. I covered the apple (from Fancy Pants) with red dot paper from the express kit. Inked the stem brown and cut a leaf from a green felt flower, The sticker is from the Express kit sticker sheet. It is a 7 Gypsies Family Matters sticker sheet that says work in Progress. The journaling card from College Press. Inside I wrote Math vs. Recess with stickers. Painted the A+ and covered some chipboard arrows. Now that all my pieces were assembled I painted the inside cover of the box with red paint. I put a thin coat on. While that dried I placed covered the sticker title with the triple thick glaze. I did not cover the stars or the apple. I adhered those to the box after the triple thick was dry. Once the lid is completely dry I placed a thin coat of triple thick over the red paint so it would not scratch off. You can also cover the bottom with a layer of glaze. Let this dry and add the chipboard elements.

Third Time is the charm right!! For the second felt page I made little "v" with the stitching. I embellished the strips of pink paper with rub ons from Fancy Pants delight. That is one strip cut into small sections only on the paper that is showing!

The chipboard word fun was painted with acrylic paint. First I painted it green and then when the paint was still wet I added some cream for the F and the N. The U is painted pink and I added dots with a darker pink. The stitching from the front shows through and so you get the same effect on both sides with this stitch.

This card is made from items in the April09 Express kit. The brown border is the brown border found at the bottom of the My Mind's Eye paper that gets cut off. Instead of throwing it out, I cut "My Mind's Eye" out of the middle of the strip to have 2 equal strips for a border. This goes to show you that those strips at the bottom of your paper that gets cut off and thrown out, can be used in your scrapbooking.

Round layouts are so fun!! Add new dimension by layering some of your elements/photos off the page...it'll still fit in your page protector! I purposely used a journaling pen that "blends in" to the background to keep the focus on the pictures...still legible in person, but doesn't overwhelm the photos!

This is the last half of the album... I'm in love with the new Sassafras Lass Bungle Jungle line! After a visit to the San Diego Zoo with my 3 year old I decided to use all those animal pictures to make her an alphabet book...and mini album to remember our trip by. She loves to pour over the pages and feel the textures and say the letters. Great way to use up random sticker letters, too! :) I created this mini album using the paper, the paper whimsey flowers, the chipboard, and brads from the Bungle Jungle line (Sassafras Lass). The base of the album is the Basic Grey Milk Chocolate Circle Album and I used random American Crafts Thickers and the white/black Making Memories tiny alphabet letter stickers. Thanks for looking!

I created this layout about my kids finding a ladybug using the 3 Bugs in a Rug Butterfly Kisses line - the theme set, diecut tags and stickers. I also used some red jewels (similar to the Doodlebug jewels we carry).

I used the Girl Friday theme set, Summer Soiree stamp set, MVP glitter brads, MVP Opaque ink pads, Madame Royale Opaque ink pads. So, my own personal challenge this month was to use the Summer Soiree stamp set on as many layouts as I can. I gotta say I love this stamp set it is so universal. On this particular layout I used the dotted border stamp as lines for the journaling cicles. I stamped them in light blue color. Then I used the same stamp to stamp two lines that cross at the bottom of the layout. I also love the scallop stamp from this set. For the flowers I stamped them with the orange ink pad (MVP) and then sponged some more of the same ink on top. I used the flourish from the stamp set as a leaf for the flower; finished the flowers with some MVP glitter brads. I wrote the journaling across the two cirlcles.

I created this layout for June creative challenge: embossing. The theme set I used for this layout is Delight Theme Set by Fancypants
I used the flourish stamp from the Summer Soiree stamp set by Fancy Pants and stamped the flower with it. Then I embossed the images with Tim Holtz Peeled paint embossing powder. Inside the flowers I used stickles. For the title I used the Loopy Lou letter stickers by Doodlebug. I hand wrote the journaling (on the blue polka dot paper for the set) around the title. The last thing I did is stamp a border with the stamp for the Summer Soiree stamp set thanks for looking, Marina Simonovich

The journaling is done on a card that was in a Express kit In May or June of last year. It fit in the space perfectly so I couldnt resist. The title is green thickers.

I created this Mother's Day pocket card using the April MemoryWorks Express Kit. Other products I used: The "Love" ticket is one of the new Tim Holtz Adage Tickets - love that set! I also used Lullaby Thickers and applied "Stickles" to them to help them sparkle. The "fancy" edge on the yellow cardstock on the front was created using our new Fiskars Apron Lace border punch (which I think is my most favorite new thing in the 09/10 catalog!).

I created this card using the April MemoryWorks Express Kit, ZVA Jewels, some former Prima flowers we carried before, the new Heidi Swapp Clear Alphabet stamps, WRMK Opaque ink (the Tiffany set), and a BG Magnetic Button (it's hiding inside the little strip of ribbon).

Sew 2 layers of the fabric layered Prima flower and 1 button to the center of a long ribbon. Freehand cut 4 leaf shapes from a piece of green scrap fabric. Use a sewing machine to sew together leaves, right sides together, leaving an opening at one end to flip it right-side out. Sew your two leaves to the ribbon. Tie on baby's head! Super cute!
